The services you will provide:

• Proofreading and fixing at least 60 articles per day (approximately 20,000 words) during working hours. Proofreading and fixing at least 60 social leads/captions across our Facebook pages.
• Ensuring that the best editorial practices and company standards are being followed carefully.
• Double-check that names, places, and organizations are spelled properly and that facts, dates, and statistics are accurate.
• Suggest changes to enhance articles’ readability, conciseness, and style, sending writers an explanation of a mistake.
• Check illustrations and captions are correct. Ensure all the visuals in the article are chosen according to the guide.
• Checking grammar and spelling in social leads and headlines in Facebook posts.
• Provide daily quality reviews to each of the editors you’ll work with.

qualifications:

• A qualification in journalism and previous writing experience.
• A good understanding of South African and International sporting news;
• Independence and dedication as this is a home-based position.
• A good laptop/PC (at least Intel 3).
• Good, reliable internet connection (uncapped, with a line-speed of at least 4MBps).
