Sports Brief is a new African sports website. Sports Brief is a partner of LEGIT company, a media holding operating in South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana, with projects like Briefly.co.za, Legit.ng, TUKO.co.ke and YEN.com.gh.

The services you will provide:
- Proofreading and fixing at least 60 articles per day (approximately 20,000 words) during working hours. Proofreading and fixing at least 60 social leads/captions across our Facebook pages.
- Ensuring that the best editorial practices and company standards are being followed carefully.
- Double-check that names, places, and organizations are spelled properly and that facts, dates, and statistics are accurate.
- Suggest changes to enhance articles’ readability, conciseness, and style, sending writers an explanation of a mistake.
- Check illustrations and captions are correct. Ensure all the visuals in the article are chosen according to the guide.
- Checking grammar and spelling in social leads and headlines in Facebook posts.
- Provide daily quality reviews to each of the editors you’ll work with.
qualifications:
- A qualification in journalism and previous writing experience.
- A good understanding of South African and International sporting news;
- Independence and dedication as this is a home-based position.
- A good laptop/PC (at least Intel 3).
- Good, reliable internet connection (uncapped, with a line-speed of at least 4MBps).
